Priscilla & Anthony got married on February 14th 2020 at the beautiful State Library Victoria. The guests enjoyed their pre-dinner drinks and canapes within the La Trobe Reading Room and proceeded in to The Ian Potter Queen’s Hall for the remainder of the reception. To relive the day, we invited Alice Hall, Wedding Producer at the State Library of Victoria to sit down with us and share what she remembers most about this breathtaking wedding!
What were some of the features and highlights that made the wedding of Priscilla and Anthony stand out?
The wedding of Priscilla and Anthony marked a very special date. It will forever be imprinted in my mind as it unfolded on Valentine’s Day 2020. Magic and romance truly filled the air. There were so many highlights of the evening. The professionalism and eye for detail of APL Photography was so stunning to observe as I escorted Priscilla, Anthony and their bridal party through to the exclusive spaces of the State Library for their photography tour. I will never forget the detail in Priscilla’s veil. It cascaded all the way down the marble stairs and had the couple’s initials woven in to the lace. One of my favourite moments was seeing Priscilla and Anthony stand by the window of the Pendulum staircase, with the natural light streaming through and I knew in that moment, that photo had captured their true love and adoration for each other. The second highlight was when the guests entered The Ian Potter Queen’s Hall for the very first time. It was a grand reveal beyond words. The bridal table was overflowing with white florals cascading down towards the floor, showering a line of candles at the base of the bridal table. Chandeliers dropped like jewels from the entry, there was a central podium in the middle of the dance floor and a group of professional string musicians playing so eloquently. When the Soprano and Tenor opera singers, Georgia Wilkinson and Kane Alexander graced the stage to sing what sounded like poetry flooding The Ian Potter Queen’s Hall, my heart melted. There were a myriad of highlights which were reflected in the smiles of all who attended the evening.
What were some of the little details, that made a big impact?
The detail within the wedding of Priscilla and Anthony was absolutely extraordinary. This beautiful couple chose white textured paper invitations with gold debossed calligraphy printed with gold foil edging. The guests entered from the grand steps of The State Library of Victoria, up the marble staircase which were lined with overflowing urns of orchids and roses. As the guests entered the La Trobe Reading Room for pre-dinner drinks, they were with greeted with a guard of wait staff standing in white suit jackets and white gloves. Guests delighted in free flowing beverages and a custom designed lavender spritz cocktail poured into gold rimmed glassware. The customised menu was truly divine, showcasing European inspiration from Italy and France. The canapes included baby asparagus, heirloom tomato and goat’s curd tartlets with vincotto and calendula flower, lavosh featuring Yarra Valley Persian fetta mousse, honey brushed slow baked tomato, balsamic sautéed onions and micro basil, smoked salmon bilinis with lime flavoured crème fraiche served on a buckwheat blini and micro celery and pecorino biscotto topped with beech wood smoked dry cured pork speck, truffle crème and pomegranate. The ornate architecture and high ceilings of the space had the guests in awe as they mingled with wonder, gazing up at the intricacy of the opulent mezzanine levels.
Inside Ian Potter Queen’s Hall, guests were treated to negroni cocktails with custom ice blocks, stamped with Priscilla and Anthony’s initials. The table settings of crockery, cutlery and glassware were provided by Lusso Event Hire were alternating in design, one set with an embossed white lace and the other showcasing a crown glass silver rim. There was a white box with a bar of premium chocolate and embossed monogram placed at each table setting. A sea of white phalaenopsis orchids enveloped the guest tables, it looked as though heaven on Earth had entered the space.
All styling and design was curated and produced by Giannarelli International and Lusso Event Hire. What made this so special is this company is run by the beautiful bride Priscilla, her mother Maryanne and her sister Chantel. It was an absolute honour to be part of bringing this dream wedding to life.
