Through our partnership with the City of Melbourne, eligible not-for-profit organisations and community groups can now host events at this iconic venue with no venue hire fees. Whether it’s a public ceremony, performance, forum, or cultural gathering, Melbourne Town Hall is your stage to connect with the community.
What’s Included and Who It’s For
This initiative is designed for not-for-profit organisations and community groups that are either based in, or deliver services to, the City of Melbourne. Events must offer some form of public benefit — whether that’s attendance or membership access.

Approved bookings include complimentary venue hire, a 50% discount on in-house audiovisual equipment, and access to specially designed menus for community events. Our team is here to support you with floorplans, catering orders and coordination.

Flexible Booking Options That Suit You
Whether you’re planning ahead or working with a shorter timeline, we offer flexible access to Melbourne Town Hall. For events taking place within two months, you can choose from any available space. For events planned further in advance, a selection of rooms has been set aside exclusively for community bookings.

For larger events that require a specific room type and longer planning, the Community spaces may not be suitable for you. Alternatively, the Community Use of Town Halls Scheme may be of interest to you.
