What is your role at Showtime Event Group?
I plan the large precinct events in South Wharf and look over the outside catering. It might sound dull to anyone else, but I love logistics! Trucks, temporary structures, limited power and pre-planning possible scenarios is right up my street.
How long have you been a part of the team at Showtime?
Wow, it must be just over 4 years now.
How many events do you think you have been a part of over your career?
That is impossible to answer. But definitely over 1,000.
What do you like to do in your time off?
I love to travel, doing as little as possible. My favourite day is to travel somewhere new and head off into the countryside on my bike to see the local sights. Very boring indeed.
What is one thing you love about Melbourne?
The people and the attitude. It really is a destination for all foodies. Everyone is willing to give anything a go and to show their support for those who dare to try something new.
How did you get into events?
In the UK I worked with several restaurants and we started to provide pop ups at public events, before moving into catering offsite.
In your opinion what would be the ultimate event to attend?
Mongol Rally is on the bucket list.
If you could pick one guest, dead or alive, to attend an event of yours who would it be and why?
Impossible to commit. David Bowie is definitely up there – great conversationalist, nice nature and if the atmosphere falls flat we can get him up on the stage.
